Light – Day 8 on a 14 Day Walk with Christ

The new star shone its light to announce the birth of our Savior and guide those seeking Him. Christ himself is the light that shines on us and directs our path. As we seek that light we can be filled with it and spread it on to others.

Matthew 2:

30 For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
31 Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;
32 A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

John 8:

12 ¶ Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Psalms 27:

1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

I have thought a lot about how Christ is the God of the one. He reaches after us one by one. His light warms us one by one. It guides us one by one. It is up to each of us to seek His light & love one by one. As we establish our own personal relationship with Him one by one, we will be guided and directed by Him, we will become His hands to lift and bless others and lighten their load. We will be filled with His light and will naturally share that light with others. How do we do this seeking and filling? We do it one act at a time.

Just like Dieter F. Uchtdorf said:

Every time you turn your hearts to God in humble prayer, you experience His light. Every time you seek His word and will in the scriptures, the light grows in brightness. Every time you notice someone in need and sacrifice your own comfort to reach out in love, the light expands and swells. Every time you reject temptation and choose purity, every time you seek or extend forgiveness, every time you courageously testify of truth, the light chases away darkness and attracts others who are also seeking light and truth.

Challenge: What will you do today to gather a little more light? And how will you share that light once it has been gathered?
